Dani and Chus Castellanos achieve a historic double, father and son champions in their respective categories.

Dani Castellanos achieves his first Spanish champion title in the highest DH category, held in La Pinilla (Segovia).

On Saturday in official training he was able to do up to 9 descents, having to deal with the abundant dust that arose. Already on Sunday, in the final he started second to last and he was aware that he had set a great downhill time when as soon as he crossed the finish line he saw how the public went crazy. He had improved his qualifying time by 3”. Minutes of great emotion and uncertainty until his greatest rival reached the finish line, setting a lower time and thus giving the final victory to Dani.

For his part, Chus Castellanos adds a new title to his great record, achieving victory in master 45. With a special flavor due to the victory of his son Dani, and it being a very busy weekend for him since the same Friday arrived of the Paris Olympic Games for his obligations as coach of the Estonian national team.

But the MTR-2 riders also had a Runner-up for Laura Marquez in the cadet category, an unfortunate fall kept her from the title.
