Noa Hirst Walker won the Spanish DH Junior Cup

The Barcelona town of Sant Andreu de la Barca was once again the epicenter of the best descent at a national level last weekend, with the incentive of being 2nd in the Spanish Cup of the specialty and celebrating no less than its 30th edition. A short circuit was on stage, just under 2 kilometers, but it became very selective due to the rain that fell the day before.

Despite this circumstance, the structure of Planet MTB for this season with 3 high-level riders did not disappoint. The British junior Noa Hirst Walker took a victory in Sant Andreu that helped her take over the provisional leadership of the Cup. For her part, the Andalusian cadet Laura Márquez consolidated hers with her 2nd consecutive partial.

Daniel Castellanos did not experience the same luck, who started as the overall leader after his victory in the inaugural race in Otívar. Dani set the 4th absolute time in qualifying, just over 3” behind Greg Callaghan's best time, however, in the final a fall condemned him to 34th place, giving up the lead of the tournament and dropping to 3rd place in the general.
