And finally, the most anticipated event for our best XC rider Janika Loiv has arrived: the Paris 2024 Olympics.
After a year of great sacrifices, a lot of preparation and becoming Estonian XC Champion, she was selected to represent her country at the Olympics once again, let's remember that this is her second participation after Tokyo 2020.
The Elancourt Hill (Paris) course was a demanding and technical route, but also beautiful due to its location. The weather conditions gave a break and the sun came out and the temperature was pleasant. The 36 riders called up to compete in the most important race of the calendar were on time at the starting line. The start of the race took place without incident and, once the first curve was over, Janika was riding in good positions but a fall relegated her to more backward positions, finishing in 19th position.
Pauline Ferrand-Prevot claimed victory at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. The Frenchwoman led with authority from the second lap and built up a large gap over her pursuers. Silver went to Batten and bronze to Rissveds.
