Paulo Alberto double victory

Paulo Alberto arrived with great enthusiasm after not being able to participate in the entire national championship in 2024. The Granho track, located in the heart of Ribatejo (Portugal) was the venue for the first round of the Portuguese championship, which counts for the senior MX1/MX2/MX125 classes and also for the MX85 and MX65 categories.

Rain was present on the Friday before the race as well as on Saturday itself, when practice and qualifying sessions were held on a somewhat muddy terrain. On Sunday, without rain, the track was still a bit wet in the morning, but throughout the day it became perfect for a Motocross Sunday.

Clear dominator in the MX1 category, MTR-2 rider Paulo Alberto returned to the National Championship to win both MX1 races with authority. Only a fall in the first corner of the first race made him drop to a few more positions behind, but that was not a problem for him to recover and achieve victory. The current Champion, Luís Outeiro was the only one who came close to the Leiria rider and always finished in 2nd place in both races. Paulo shows again that he is a clear contender for the final championship title.
